Message for the start of the new Scout Year
You are holding a blue raspberry slush puppy when someone comes along and bumps into you and shakes your arm, making you spill it everywhere.
Why did you spill it?
"Because someone bumped into me!!!"
Wrong answer.
You spilled blue raspberry slushie because there was blue raspberry slushie in your cup.
Had there been Powerade in the cup, you would have spilled Powerade.
Whatever is in the cup is what will spill out.
When life comes along and shakes you up (and life will), whatever is inside you will come out.
So we have to ask ourselves... “What is in my cup?"
When life gets tough, what spills over?
Joy, gratitude, peace, humility, love?
Or anger, bitterness, victim mentality and quitting tendencies?
Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it.
Today let us work toward filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation, resilience, positivity, kindness, gentleness, and love for others.
